Kiama & Kangaroo Valley

Hi everyone, how are you going? (that's australian for how's it going :)

The last leg of the Australian Tour had us in a beautiful coastal town called Kiama, and another lovely place called Kangaroo Valley, where we played 4 gigs at the Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival.

The Kiama gig was very busy, we were told the bar was unusually busy that night, so we obviously had a buzz going in Kiama upon arrival. Many people there were shakin it hard on the dance floor, and we had a great time at that show. We flip flopped sets that night with our support act, Dactyl Spondee, as we both played 2 sets to keep the night going with live music.

Kangaroo Valley saw us play 4 shows, 3 on saturday and one sunday to end  the tour.

Saturday was fun as we played an acoustic set for the first time on the tour. It was well received, but I think we shocked some of those fans at the second show (which was outdoors) as we cranked up the amps and turned up the energy for a very rockin set. There were many younger kids at this show and according to them the show was"SICK!".  They quickly bought up judes stickers and covered their own guitar cases.

The Saturday night show was back in the hall, and it was one of our funnest shows. We had Dactyl Spondee come up for most of the show to add percussion and backing vocals. We ended the tour sunday morning with a short half hour set and it was a fond farewell for the boys.

We want to thanks everyone involved in getting us to Australia, the fans, the friends, The Tea Garden's Country Club, Coastfest, Bar 121, Warner's Bay High, The Supper Club, The Grand Hotel in Kiama, Kangaroo Valley, Dactyl Spondee (you guys were great to spend two weeks with!) and most of all Sara Smithson, our beloved manager, you went above and beyond the call of duty, and made our tour absolutely perfect and unforgettable.
GOOD ON YA MATE!

Sydney Rocks!

Hi everyone,
The Judes rocked the Supper Club in Sydney on wednesday night, to an enthusiastic crowd that had several 'big wigs' in attendance. One had an Elvis wig, one a Marge Simpson wig..haha. Seriously though, all response was great, and this may have been the most important gig of the tour. We played live on the steps of they Sydney Opera House as well, and had many tourists stopping to film us, and pose with us. Made many great friends, and sang as we walked through the streets. We are now of to Kiama to start the end of ther tour. See you all soon.

The Judes

Judes arrive at Warners Bay High School!

Our Manager Sara set up the greatest surprise in the world for us today, as we were picked up in an Austin Princess Limo for the gig at Warner's Bay High School. On the way to the gig, the driver says to us..."This is the same car the Beatles were driven in in 1964. But it's since been painted white. But still...Beatles Car.
BEATLES CAR... awesome.

The Show was awesome. The girls especially were singing along to songs they knew, and even songs they didn't know. Thanks to all the staff and students for a very memorable day.

The Judes

Goal!

The Bar 121 show in Newcastle was amazing. A packed house was on hand for a Monday night blow out. The show was incredible, lots of energy, and the crowd was insane. We are now preparing to go to Warners Bay High to play for the winners of the Revolutionon Film competition.

Love you all,
The Judes

radio! radio!

Hi everyone,

We have just returned from doing two radio interviews, one at 2NUR FM, and ABC Radio 1233 in New Castle. We did interviews on both stations and played acoustic versions of Someone Like You. Both went off really well, and as they say here when you do well, Good on Ya Mate!

Tonight we play Bar 121 in New Castle, and tomorrow is a high school gig at Warners Bay.

Love you all,

Peace, Love & Music,
The Judes.

rain rain finally went away

Well, the bad luck continued for us this weekend. It poured for 3 days straight amounting in 7 inches of rain....yup 7 inches. So that dampened the crowds for our first two gigs, though the shows were both solid. We made many new friends and fans so far. The sun finally came back today, so it looks like the bad weather is over. We will be doing a live radio show tomorrow morning, EXCITING, then gigging at Bar 121 in Sydney at night. The show is sold out, so we are looking forward to a really fun night.

Bruce Willis lands plane safely!

well, not exactly Bruce Willis, but it was a one wheel landing that felt like it might be a 180 degree spin-out....long story short; we made it.

We are here, having a cold Fosters Lager, and getting ready to dip into a hot tub.. here they call it HOT TUB. Got a flat tire on the way from the airport, in the rain.Cory jumped out in the pouring rain like a crazy country boy, then an Australian Girl joined in to help. Mike and Jim
stayed dry in the truck, insisting that the country folk wait for the rain to stop. It did stop.
Mike and Jim, still nice and dry, then proceeded to help out, and the foursome fixed the flat tire, and we were once again on the road. Now we must get some sleep, the shows start tomorrow.
